ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

Ever wish you could be a fly on the wall during a real business development conversation? Well, BD Live gets you there. This program concept has been presented to numerous SMPS chapters, professional organizations and private companies from Atlanta to Honolulu and everywhere in between.

Set in front of a live audience, Kris Hui, Senior Vice President of Development at Brookfield Properties will be featured as the client with a "real" project that he is looking for consultants and contractors to propose on. He will be interviewed by four different business developers who will give him their best pitch to land the job. 

At the end of the session, both the client and BDs will evaluate the different business development styles and discuss what works and doesn’t work from each of their perspectives. Learn first-hand what best practices you can implement to stay ahead in the market.

MODERATOR:

Frank Lippert, FSMPS, CPSM - Founder/Partner | Go Strategies, LLC

Frank provides strategic pursuit planning, strategic market capture planning, and the functional seller/doer training to clients throughout the U.S. Frank is all about helping teams work more effectively and more efficiently with processes, schedules, and tools that keep A/E/C firms’ business development strategy and marketing efforts on track. Frank has worked at small, medium, large, and mega-sized engineering companies in his 30 years in the A/E/C industry. He speaks regularly at SMPS, ACEC, WTS, APWA, and SAME conferences. Frank has served as the SMPS Society chapter delegate and Society president. He has been recognized as an SMPS Fellow (FSMPS) and is a Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM).

Kris Hui - Senior Vice President of Development | Brookfield Properties

Kris Hui is responsible for the management and execution of all Hawaii mixed-use projects and development operations. He has more than 15 years of experience in development, construction and asset management, currently overseeing Lilia Waikiki and Ala Moana Plaza, two high-rise mixed-use projects totaling in excess of 1,000 rental units. He joined Brookfield Properties from OliverMcMillan, previously leading the development of Symphony Honolulu, a mixed-use high-rise project totaling over 1 million gross SF of for-sale condos, and a luxury auto galleria.
Kris holds a B.S. from Boston College and an MBA from the University of Hawaii. He serves on the board of The GIFT Foundation of Hawaii and Child and Family Service.
